I have been working on my three paintings for the 3rd Annual Lion Heart Art Show benefitting the CR Johnson Healing Center all week, and tonight I finished the last one. It feels good to be done with them, and I am happy with the result.
For “Aspen Gold” I used watercolor with gold foil collaged on top to give it that extra dimension and “punch”. “Shallow Waters II” and “Tahoe Trees in Spring” are transparent watercolors. All three paintings are mounted on 12″ x 12″ birch panels, and now all I have to do is seal them, and mount the hanging wire on the back.
Sealing will be a process over several days, as I want to make sure the layers dry thoroughly in between coats. Drop-off is at Riverside Studios downtown Truckee, CA on next Monday, so they have time to hang the show for the Opening Reception on Friday, February 7th. Each painting will be sold at $100 with 50% being donated to High Fives and the CR Johnson Healing Center.
